Free Roofing Supplement Resources

Everything on this page is ungated: no email, no form. These are the working documents behind the way we write supplements, packaged so a roofer can use them without us. If you would rather hand the file off, that is what we do; if you would rather do it yourself, start here and with the step-by-step guide.

In-house estimator vs. outsourced supplements: the calculator

Put in your job volume, your average carrier estimate and what an estimator costs you, and see where the line is. The long-form version of this math, with the assumptions argued out, is in our 30-jobs-a-month post.

Jobs where a supplement is written
Before supplementing, in dollars
Our historical average is 28.6%; use your own number
Base pay, dollars
Taxes, benefits, insurance
Xactimate license, roof reports, tools
Increase recovered per month—
In-house cost per month (salary + burden + software)—
EOD fee per month (10% of the increase)—
Net to you, in-house—
Net to you, outsourced—
Break-even: jobs per month where in-house costs the same as EOD—
Assumes the in-house estimator and EOD recover the same increase; in practice the difference is time per file and follow-up. Inputs stay in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere. Historical averages are not a promise about your claims.

Resources FAQ

Are these resources really free?

Yes. No email, no form, no watermark. Download them, print them, put them in your CRM. If they help, the only thing we ask is that you keep the source line on the bottom so the next person can find the state pages they came from.

How current is the code-by-state sheet?

Compiled in September 2026 from state code and insurance sources, with the full citations on each state page. Codes and statutes change; the sheet carries a compile date, and the state pages are updated when a state adopts a new edition or passes a new roofer statute.

Can I share these with my crews and clients?

Please do. The photo checklist is written to be handed to a crew lead; the dec-page sheet is for whoever opens the file. Reposting them on your own site is fine with a link back to this page.

Do you have a roofing supplement template I can download?

Not as a fill-in document, because a supplement is a comparison against a specific carrier estimate and a template would only give you the base scope. What we do publish is the macro line list by roof type, the step-by-step guide, and a rebuttal email template.

Want the file done for you? EOD’s roofing supplement services write and negotiate the supplement: 10% of the increase, no increase, no fee, no minimums. Send us a claim.
